Attending Teams:

UTM would like to thank Smash it Sports Stratford, Rawlings Canada & Next Level U Sports for supporting our 2023 Tournament Schedule.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

• All teams will play 4 pool games beginning Friday afternoon, through to Saturday afternoon
• Following pool play, teams will be split into two groups Platinum/Gold and Consolation

Platinum Championship

• Top 8 teams from pool play advance to the Platinum Championship
• Single game elimination, with gold/silver and bronze/4th place games

Gold Championship

• The first four teams eliminated from the Platinum Championship move to the Gold Championship
• Single game elimination, with gold/silver and bronze/4th place games

Consolation Championship

• Seeds 9 to 13 following pool play advance to the Consolation Championship
• Each team will play 2 additional pool games vs other teams in the consolation round
• From there 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams earn 1 extra game
• Gold/Silver, Bronze/4th place games 

UTM & U of Waterloo MVP Awards

All weekend long (except for the medal games), athletes participating in the UTM Big Show are eligible to win MVP awards for achieving certain things during games. Each MVP winner will receive a small little token award, and then have their name placed on the MVP board located at the pavilion. Some lucky MVP winners will then win Smash It Sports store credit, Dairy Queen, Tim Horton's, and other store gift cards. Please see below for what it will take to get an MVP lanyard and become eligible for prizes

Pitchers:

• 2 or more scoreless innings (same game)
• 6 or more strike-outs (same game)
• 3 innings pitched with 0 walks (same game)

Batters:

• 1 home run at any point
• 3+hits same game
• 3+rbi same game

Defense:

• Catchers - successfully throw out a runner trying to steal 2nd or 3rd base
• Infielders - turn a double play (all members of the infield involved win)
• Outfielders - throw out a base runner
