(Orlando) UTM Revolution's GTA affiliate led a group of athletes comprised from their own roster and other U16/U19 rosters across the province down to Orlando this past weekend to participate in the President's Day Tournament at the Wide World of Sports Complex on the Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, FL. This was a new experience for the leaders and most of the athletes. The competition as expected at this event was tough, but the group held their own during pool play. Although the pool play record was 0-4-1 the team played well together, and looked good offensively against some very tough US opponents (including some that were 2-years older than most of the UTM group). Following pool play the team entered the playoff bracket Monday morning, and played perhaps their best overall game... a late inning score from the American Freedom team was the difference in a 6-5 loss which ended the tournament run.
We are proud of the hard work put in by our volunteer leaders, and thankful for the assistance of our guest coaches. We are happy to have shared this experience with you all, and we wish everyone a safe trip back home, and all the best with your club teams in 2020.
