U19 Midget Tier 1
With a second straight gold medal, and three consistent winning weekends we will crown the Oakville Angels as the new #1 team in U19 Tier 1. Each week previous the number #1 ranking has been held by the Waterloo Ghosts. The two teams are both attending this coming weekend’s tournament in Kitchener-Waterloo, so we might have a match-up between these two clubs in the coming days (they do not meet in pool play). Waterloo will now sit at #2, followed by Windsor at #3, the Wildcats haven’t played an event in Ontario yet, but their line-up is solid and we won’t likely put them down or up any further until we can see them in action. Rounding out the first five – Brampton Blazers (M) who took Oakville to the max again this weekend, and Guelph stays at #5 ahead of this coming weekend’s action.
U19 Midget Tier 2
LaSalle is the new #1 team at U19 Tier 2, following a 4-1-0 weekend at the Queen of Diamonds Tourney. LaSalle captured the gold medal Monday with wins over two ranked teams (Miss SW and London). Waterloo Ghosts fall back to #2, and will have a chance this coming weekend on home turf to show Ontario what they have. London following a great weekend performance, now sits at #3. This team is full of talent, hustle and is well coached which is a great recipe for success. Kitchener slides down to #4, with a semi-final loss to London, and a pool play loss to #8 Palmerston. Rounding out the first five – Ontario Yankees, who lost in the “B” gold in the U19 Tier 1 event this past weekend.
U16 Bantam Tier 1
Vaughan continues to hold down the #1 spot. Sure, critics will say they haven’t played a team at U16 yet – but you can’t argue that the team is performing at a high level as they once again qualified for the “A” playoffs in the U19 Tier 1 event, before losing to Six Nations Monday AM. Windsor Wildcats jump to #2 in this competitive group, going 5-0-0 to capture gold this past weekend at the Queens event. Waterloo Gold is now #3, Mississauga North 02’ now sits at #4, with another “A” final appearance this weekend. UTM 2K2 rounds out the first 5.
U16 Bantam Tier 2
Oakville captured a 2nd straight gold medal, and keeps the #1 spot on the rankings this week. Vaughan Vikings 03’ will stay in the 2nd spot, but definitely has many teams looking to capture that spot from them, including our new #3 Palmerston, who captured Silver this past weekend in Brantford. LaSalle now sits at #4, and Brantford remains in the #5 spot.
No change to the leaders here at Novice, Brampton and Kitchener took this past weekend off --- and both will look for big things this coming weekend. Waterloo remains at #3 as they host a big event this coming weekend. Toronto/Durham Lady Mets fresh off a Gold this past weekend jump all the way up to #4, which drops Vaughan Sr. to the #5 position. This coming weekend is huge for U14 with three tournaments (Waterloo, Halton and Port Perry)
