(Brantford, ON) - On Saturday April 6th, some of the athletes and coaches of the U19 Brantford team ran an afternoon practice/clinic for the St George Spartans a club planning to play PWSA ball for the first time this summer. The event held at the Rising Stars Facility in Brantford, provided an opportunity for the U19 team members to plan out a practice, and then facilitate the instruction and coordination of the event for the eager group of U10 players. One of the main things that UTM wants to continue to push forward is the importance of giving back and growing the game of softball whenever possible. UTM leader Chris Meyer, commented, “For many of the UTM athletes, softball has been an important part of their lives for the past 10 years. Now, as these athletes enter their final few years of club ball, we want to encourage them to (a) keep playing at some level and (b) look at ways they can stay involved in the game, for example by coaching younger teams in their communities.”
UTM’s Brantford affiliate, a partnership with the Brantford Bobcats organization begins their 2019 season in just a few short weeks as co-host of the London Lightning/UTM Indoor Tournament taking place April 27 & 28th.
